Team 3 Logistics LLC Wins Volkswagen Group of America Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Agreement

Team 3 Logistics, a Smart Logistics Solutions joint venture of Kenco Logistic Services LLC (KLS) and Schnellecke Logistics, has been awarded a contract to manage and operate the Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) storerooms for a new plant being built by Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. in Chattanooga.

“The Team 3 mission is to support the growing automotive manufacturing base in the Southeast, so we are pleased to have won this contract with one of the world’s leading manufacturers of passenger cars,” says Joe E. Taylor, vice president, sales, Team 3 Logistics.

Under its agreement with Volkswagen, Team 3 will manage the daily operating tools and supplies of the plant, which is designed to produce 150,000 cars annually. The new Volkswagen Passat, produced at Chattanooga, was developed specifically for the North American market, and Team 3 is a 100-percent-“local content”-supplier.

Services provided by Team 3 will include managing storerooms, receiving, and warehousing, as well as issuing assembly line repair parts, tools, and supplies in support of assembly plant operations. Since early 2010, Team 3 has been providing plant site logistics to Volkswagen as it ramped up its critical pre-series warehouse operations.
